The Swiss shopping malls market exists since 40 years; correspondingly there are many older shopping centres in Switzerland. A large proportion of these centres needs attention with regard to the following aspects :
– structural condition
– replacement of technical installations
– ecological and economic improvement
These aspects are often the impetus for an imminent conversion or refurbishment. In addition, these older shopping centres also come under pressure with regard to perception (image, appearance, layout, design) and level of service (diversity of offers and tenants).
Structural measures alone are therefore not enough to ensure a successful future competitive situation. What is needed is a comprehensive revitalisation by means of an efficient overall process, integrated systems and clear organisation.
